How It All Began…
We are and have always been a family based agency that was started in 1932 by Milton Stoner. Ed Brater came aboard in 1954, when the name was updated to Stoner-Brater. Years later, in 1987, Bob Langford purchased the agency, and retained the agency name. After 28 years of running the business, Bob decided he was ready to retire. So Tawnia and Tracy (who is Bob’s daughter) decided to purchase the agency and keep the family business going. Tawnia and Tracy had worked so well together for 20 years that it only made sense to keep it going!
We moved the business from Fairfax to Anderson and changed the name to Hometown Insurance Partners, LLC est. in 2015. We are currently located in the Waycross North Building on Beechmont Avenue.
Tawnia Rufner
I am originally from Terrace Park, Ohio. I am a 5th generation Cincinnati-an. I currently reside in Anderson Township, with my husband of 30+ years. We relocated to Anderson from Deer Park shortly after my son was born in 2001.
Education/Experience
I went to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I got a summer job in the insurance business back in 1984 and fell in love with it. I decided to further my education in the insurance business, instead of going back to Miami University. I obtained my personal, commercial, life and health licenses. I have worked for Safeco, Cincinnati Insurance and Western Southern in the past 30 years, plus a few other insurance companies around the Cincinnati/Hamilton area.
Best Advice
The best advice I can give anyone about insurance is to be informed about your coverage. Do not take for granted, or just assume, that you have the proper coverage. Research it, talk to your insurance agent, make sure you have all the coverage you need. I think having your coverage with an Independent AGENT gives you an advantage, we can help guide you and keep you informed about the confusion that is the world of insurance.
Tracy Mitchell
I was born and raised in Anderson Township. I graduated from Anderson High School in 1995 as did my mother in 1966. I currently reside in Anderson with my dog Bo.
Education/Experience
After graduation, I started working part time for my father, Bob Langford, and started school at UC Clermont. Soon I realized that insurance was what I wanted to do full time! I loved that everyday I learned something different in the insurance industry. I now have over 20 years of experience to share in the insurance business.
Best Advice
If I had any advice to give to someone about their insurance policy is to read your policy. If you do not understand something, call and ask questions. As an insurance agent we don’t always know what you have or what acquisitions you have made in the past year , but are always here to help you understand it and what you may need. Again this is why we are family business just trying to help other families.
